研究テーマ

  • My current research area concerns cross-cultural misunderstandings between Japanese and Americans as a result from specific cultural schema. I am interested in researching and exposing the psychological and cultural concepts that go unrealized to the speaker when they communicate with another person. A person's, generic base of information, or schemata, is the basis for the most serious kinds of cross-cultural misunderstandings because they are part of the daily routine of life the target culture. We, as cross-cultural speakers, must focus on exposing the simple daily-life assumptions which underpin a person's communicative behavior.
